WEDGEWOOD-BLUE CHIFFON FOR BRIDESMAIDS' GOWNS
WILLIAMS — CRAMPTON Three maids in lovely gowns of wedgewood-blue chiffon attended the bride at the wedding this afternoon of Katlileen Mary, younger daughter of Mrs. W. Cranipton and the late Mr. Crampton, The Retreat, Otane, and Cyril Janies Wilder, eldest son of Mrs. C. N. B. Williaois and the late Arr. Williams, of Atua, Waipukurau. The Rev. R. T. Hall, of Otane, Ofiiciated at the eeremouy which was held at St. Luke 's Church, Havelock North, the church having been beautifully decorated with yellovv japouica aud forsytliia aud spring bulbs with tiny posies of hyaeiuths on the guests' pews. The ceremony was a chorai one with the Woodford, House choir and the hymns sung were "Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us" and "O Perfect Love. ' ' The choir also sang ' ' God Be In Thy Head." Miss E. Boby, of Woodford House, presided at tho organ for the choir-siugiug and Major Uldham. played the wedding niarches. Pearl-tinted ring velvet was chosen by tlie bride for her gown which was fashioned with a hcart-shaped necklino caught into position at each side of the neck with shirring. The loug, fitting sleeves were shirred at the siiouluers and pointed over the hands, being finished with tiny covered buttons. The waist was defined with a corded belt crossed over in front and looped at the back and an inset shirred' panel in the back of the skirt flared out to forui the train. She worc gold sandals and a lovely veii of Brussiels lace, belonging to the bridegroom's family, which was arranged with a top-knot of orange blossom. An arm shower of rich cream roses was carried. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Bill (Jrampton. Three maids attended the bride, the Misses Ida Hanlon, of Wellington (chief ), Pam Wilder and Gertrude Wynyard, whose gowns of wedgewoodblue chifion were mountod on taifeta. The gowns were fashioned alike with a draped scarf shirred at each side of the squure neekliue in front and edgiug the neck over the shouldcrs where iti was also shirred aiid hung right down the back to ' f Ofin a slight train. The front of the corsage was slightly shirred and the* waistiine finished with a swathed belt. The sleeves were long and fitting. Each maid wore blue shoes, a tiny posy of primroses and freesias in her hair and carried a hand spray of primroses, freesias, pansies, forget-me-nots and maidenhair fern. Mr. Johu Hickson was the best rnan and the groomsmen were Messrs. John Ormond and Bstrney Williams. The wedding receptiou was 1ield at Te Waikaha, Havelock North, the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Williams, the latter being the bride 's sister. Hero ti marquee was arranged on the lh'.v v and the tables for the wedding breukfast were decorated with float bowls of blue and yellow flowers. Mrs. W. Crampton, the bride 's inotlier, woro a gown of black chantilly lace with a black wool georgette coat with fur collar. Her hat was also black and she carried a bouquet uf mauve and deep red aiiemoncs. Mrs. C. N. B. Williams, the bridegroom's mother, wore an ense-mble of black matelasSe' figured in an oyster shade, the revers of the short coatee being of the reversed material. Sho woro a black -hat and carried a bouquet of flowers in red shades. Mrs. li. C. Williams wore a smart black onsemble . with. . short basqued coat and skirt,.. Iler crepe 3q chine blouse of vivid erd and white had large frilled revers over ihe revers cf the coat and she wore a black hat. When tho bride and bridegroom lcfl for their inotorihg honeymoon the bride travellcd in" a fro'ck of navy blue matt georgette \Vorli' with a tliree-qua'rter coat fiared'trom the waist of navy blistered taffeta patterned with red, yellow and • white diamonds- She wore a pearl brooeh at the high neck of her frock, a navy hat and navy accessories.
