QUIET WEDDING IN HASTINGS THIS MORNING

MATTHEWS— TAYLOR The wedding was quietiy tsolemnised at the residence of the bride's parents of Dorice Merle Rossiter, eldest. daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Taylpr, McLean street, Hastings, and Lindsay Laurence, younger 6on of Mrs and the late Mr J. L. Matthews, of Wairoa. The Rev. Father Macdonald officiated at the ceremony and Miss M. Collins was the pianist. Lovely bowls of white blossom and yellow spring flowers decorated the drawing room, where the wedding was solemnised. The bride, who Was given away by her father, wore a gown of white crinkled Swiss organdie mounted on deepest cream taifeta. Tho gown had a collar of cream lace which had been worn by the bride's mother on her wedding frock. The sleeves wero short and puffed £~id she wore whito lace mittens. Her only ' ornament was a gold locket worn by her grandmother on her wedding day. A picture hat of cream etraw was trimm?d with orange blossom and velvet ribbon-and she carried a bouquet of flowers in creamy shades, freesias, polyanthus and jonquils with maidenhair fern. The only bridesmaid was the bride'6 6ister, Miss Marjorie Taylor, who wore a gown of white crinkled organdie patterned with shaded green sprays. White organdie frilling outlined the neck and edged the sleeves and hem. She wore dark green shoes and a hat in the same shade trimmed with marguerites. Her posy was composed of lemon polyanthus, freesias and ferns. Mr E. P. Williams carried out the duties oi beBt man. •Following the ceremony a jolly wedding breakfast was held, this also being attended only by relatives and oldest friends. The wedding $ake, which stood in the centre of the bridal table was made and beautifully decorated by Mrs Levi Bowen. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs W. Taylor, tbe bride's parents, Mrs Taylor wearing a frock of black siik orepe figured in cherry and white with a black taifeta coat, black hat and accessories. Her posy was oi red anemones and polyanthus. Mrs Matthews, the bridegroom's mother, wore a tunic frock of black silk marocain with black and gpld braided trimming. Her black hat had touches of palo green and lemon in the trimming and her posy was in lemon and gold shades. Miss V. Matthews, the bridegroom's sister, wore a nigger brown costume with a shell pink blouse and brown hat. When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon which is to be a tour of the North Island, the bride travelled in a smart swagger suit ir Marina blue worn with an embroidered fine wool jumper. She wore a biue hat and dove grey accessories.
