GREYMOUTH, Last Niglit. Whilst practising landings at Hokitika aerodrome this afternoon a civil reserv© trainee, Edward Russell Orr, of Alexander street, Greymouth, had the misfortune to come in rather short with the result that the plane which he was Hying was extensively damaged. Orr had a remarkablo escaxie from serious injury. The accident occurred at ahout 2 o'clock and tlie pilot in landing at the southern end of the aerodrome collided with a stack of rails, the Wesfc Coast United Aero Club's moth plane ZK AAZ having its undercarriage carried away, the propeller broken and the centre section and lower wings severely fractured. The plane, which was purcliased by the United Aero Club from tlie Wellington Aero Club over -two years ago, had been recentlv nsed in training club and civil rescrve pilots at Greymouth and Hokitika.
