Retrospective Payments In. explaining a Press Association message which appeared in the HeraldTribune on Thursday in regard to the Dominion carpenters' and joiners' award, Mr. A. T. Cockerill, assessor for Hawke's Bay, stated that the wording of the message had le'd to some confusion. While it was stated that the term of the award commenced on September 15, 1937, the clause in regard to the 2/9 per hour for wages was retrospective to a previous pronouncement of the Court on September 8, while the allowance of $d as tool allowance was xetrospective to the pronouncement on September 15.
