ASHBURTON, This Day. The Ashburton County Racing Club 's spring meeting inaugiirated . the new cireuit to-day in fine, co.ol weather. The track ie fast. The attendance is large. Results: — Hurdles.— 2/3 SlLVER SIGHT l; 1/1 Sunny Land 2, 4/5 Travenna 3. Scr.: Redolent, Harkaway. Won by half a length; third horse half a length back. Time, 2.50 3-5. Novice Sandicap. — First Division: 3/4 COCKSURE 1, 8/8 Short Oircuit 2, 2/2 Happy Night 3. Won by a neck; third horse three lengths back. Tiino, 1.13 3-5. Second Division: 10/10 ELMARCH 1, 14/10 llabblo 2, 13/11 Lady Leigh (coupled Avith Knight Commander) 3. Won by a head; third horse a length back. Time, 1.14 1-5. All started. After the hurdles race an inquiry was held into interference by Silver Sight with Sunny Land near the finish. The stewards neard the evidence of both riders, and deeided that the incident was accidental.
