BAY VIEW GARDEN CIRCLE MEETS
Tbe August meeting of tbe Bay View Garden Circle was held at Mr W. E. yaunders' residenee. Tbere was a good attendance of members in spite of tbe weather. Miss Nicholls, circle leader, read tbe motto of tbe circle, "If you have two loaves of bread, sell oue and buy a flower." The afternoon was spent witb tbe reading of articles of current interest to gardeners'. Tbe September meeting is to be beld at Mrs McHardy's on tbe tourtb Wednesday. The competitions were: — Yiolets: Miss Nicholls 1, Mrs A. McHardy 2, Mrs Wilson 3. Sweetest-seented flower: Mrs Saunders 1, Mrs A. McHardy 2, Miss Nicholls 3. Posy bowl: M"? Wilson 1, Mrs S. Staniland 2. Mrs McHardy 3. Tbe liostess' competition was won by Mrs Wilson. Afternoon tea and a stroll round tbe garden brought an interesting afteroon to a close.
