WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Not only as applied to hundreds of juveniles but a large body of parents as well as the general public, the annual ball, held under the auspices of the Waipukurau District High School Committee, in the Municipal Theatre last night, was a pronounced soeial success. The arrangements made for the occasion were of a very complete nature, and the large assemblage of dancers — the scholars" appearing, fo'r the most , part, in attractively designed fancy costoumes of wide variety, as well as involving many Qolourful characterisations — spent a highly enjoyable time. Folk and other danees, preelded by a | grand march, for the children, oeeupied | the early part of the evening, to the | accompaniment ' of excelleqt music prol vided by Mrs. S. Collett, infant mistress. Subsequently the adult section of the audience. "tripped it lightly" till the small hours of this morning, Mr. Les Anderson's Dannevirke orchestra having been engaged for the occasion.
