Suggestion for Waipawa
(From
WAIPAWA, Last Night. The semi-finals and finals only remain to be played by the Waipawa Golf Club in both the F.M.T. CSup competition and ! the senior and junior championships to complete the season's competitions, and those remaining in these events are requested to have their games disposed of urgently a£ the heavy growth of grass now appearing on the links will not make for good play in these important events. The committee has made several inspections of the adjodning jproperty which Mr Kittow, with his custemary generosity, has placed at the disposal of the club for the purpose of making new links. Th© committee is enthusiastic over the prospects which this country offers and a full meeting of the club will be called at an early date to consider the question of removal. The land is gently undulating and affords a variety of holes, while there is an unlimited area to lay out as many holes as required. The fairways are splendidly turfed, with a good sole of grass to make for good lies. The distance from town is no further than at present and members are advised to take a walk over the country as soon as possible, so that tliey may be in a position to express their opinion' regarding the change at the forthcoming meeting.
