WELLINGTON, Tbis Day. Compensation for farmers for tbe losse& caused by the depredations of unidentified dogs was suggested by Mr T H. McCombs (Government, Lyttelton) in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr McCombs gave notice of his intention to ask the Government if it would introduce legislation to provide I'or part of the dog-tax revenuo heing set aside' as a pool from wliich sheepfarmers and others could be compousa'ted for sucb losses, He said in a note to tlie question " that the proposal extended the principle already establislied with the compulsory insurance of motor-veliicles to cover third-party risk.
