GISBOBNE, Tbis Day. A statement tliat a lavy" would probably be imposed upon tbe fruit industry to assist interital marketing organisations, was made by Mr. J. E. Thomas, assistant-Direetor of Internal Marketing, wben speaking at a meetiug of tbe Poverty Bay Eruitgrowers' j Association last nigbt. Tbe levy, bowever, would be very small and be felt tbe men in tbe industry would receive back more tban tbey bad to pay.
