IN CHINESE WAR ZONE
New Zealanders' Adventure NO ATTENTION FOR WOUNDED '(Received 17, 8.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 1G. Passengers by the Kamo Maru, which arrived to-day from China, inclllded two farmers from Tahora, 83 miles south-west from New Plymouth, New Zealand. The two farmers were detained for II days at Peiping while fighting between the Japanese and Chinese went on aronnd them. All the roads to safety had been blocked, but the New Zealanders took the iirst train out after the Japanese took possession of the city. They said that the Chinese commenced working for the Japanese as soon as the latter entered the city. The wounded Chinese numbered abont 2000, but no one sDemed to worry about them or to give them medical attention. The New Zealanders added that a phase of the war that was hard to uftderstand was the way war material went through the Chinese Customs to the Japanese Army in Peiping. ,
