Makotuku School Affairs, At tlie nionthly meeting of tlie Makotuku fschool Committee, tliere wero present: Messrs J. Palmer (chairman), W. Mildon, M. Carruthers, and O. Hardnig (lionorary 'secretary) Tho lieadmaster reported a roll number of 37, with an average attendance of 34.2. A tnedal was received from the Boys and Girls' Agricultural Club for James Carruthers, who gaiued third place in tlie mangold-growing competition. A vote of appreciation was passed to Mr A. Neilson and Miss Gaze for their efforts in preparing the children for tlie fancydress ball and also to parents and friends and all wlio had contributed by donations and refresliments.
