A. j Maddison, ehaii-man of the Hawke's j Bay Education Board, in reference to i the Hastings Intermediate School, at the board meeting in Napier this morning. He stated that the question ■ had been taken up with the Minister by the D.ireetor of Education. Mr. Maddison reported that . the Direetor of Education % visited Hastings, and met members of the local school commit.tees, including Havelock North and Mangateretere, and" also members of "tlie Hastings High School Board, to diseuss the question of atf Intermediate School for Hastings. There was a yery representative attendance, and after a full discussion tho meeting paSsed a resolntion in f avour of thft establishment of u separate Intermediate School in Hastings. There were only three dissentients.
