LETTERS TO EDITOR

Te Mata Peak Road Sir, — Mr Logan' s remarks eoncerning the Te Mata Park road job interested me so much that I would like to ask bim a question or two. Since lie considers it so easy for men to walk a couple of miles uphill and pushing a. bicycle after riding at "'least another two miles, and then do a hard day's work, why is it necessary to spend thousands of pounds in making a- road less than a quarter of a mile. so that Cars can.-.go- along it in second gear? Surely a little walk like that would not hurt anyone? I would.also like to ask Mr Logan if lie has ever attempted to walk to Te Mata Park — from the Herewortli Scliool corner, I mean. If h'e hasn't, I would suggest that lie does so; then he would be in a better position to judge. — Yours, etc., "WORKER". Hastings, September 14, 1937.
