'Ihe passengers aboard the Ormonde, which has arrived from London, include Colonel Llewellyn Partridge, D.S.O., who has ben an A.D.Q. to the last three British monarchs. In an interview, Colonel Partridge, who is on his way to New Zealand, said : "King Edward experienced tronble from the beginning of his reign. I saw hioi at his father's funeral. After that he never smiled again exqepting during the period of his tour of Wales among the working people. There again he was Prince Charming. "Through all his troubles I was profoundly sorry for him. His extraordinary personality captured the Jmagination of the common people of England. In fact, ho still holds it. His one idea was a quiefc life. He wanted to be unknown and live his own life." Colonel Partridge added that the present King ha? raised the prestige of the Royal Family higher than ever.
