Pageant Play lor Auckland HUGE PRODUCING TASK

AUCKLAND, Last Night. The biggest drama-produciug task over attempted in New Zealand is being i'aced by Mr G. D. Walton, oi' Melbourne, who arrived at Auckland today by tho Wauganellg from Sydney, Mr Walton is to produce "Credo," tli© reinarkable pageaut play to be performed at th© Western Spriiigs Stadium next yeqr as part of tlie ceutcnary celebrations being arrauged by thc Homai) CttthuUo Church, . More than 10Q0 players will bo required for tho performance, and rehearsals are to be beguu as soou as Mr Walton hag decided upon his east and his pian of campaigu. Comparable with the Passion Play produced at Oberammergau, Bavaria, "Credo" will exact tremendous amount of preparation and rehearsal, aud for thig rea^on it has been decided to spend at least four months in gettifig the huge east ready. Mr Walton has had considerabie experience of dramatic work and, in addition to a varied prodncing career, has also written a number of successful radio and other plays. He is directqr of the Therry Society, which serves as the headquarters of the Australian Cathoiic Dramatio Movement. Mr Walton will' remain in Auckland for several weeks to get the production of "Credo" under way, and will return to Australia, coming back again for the final rehearsals aud production.
