MR. THOMAS SHERRARD

There dicd on Monday, iri the Pahiatua Hospital, Mr Thoraas ShCrrard, & very old and mnch-eStcemed Settlef of Pongaroa. Mr Sherrard was born in Gounty Antrim, Northerff Irelaild, iri 1852, and came to New Zealand from Victoria in 1878, and for many years he farmed in Central Otago and Canterbury. In 1S86 he came north, and after spending some time in tho Manawata, Wanganui, and Hawke's Bay districts he finally settled in Pongaroa. Mr Sherrard is survived by his wife, three sons, eight daughters and 18 grandchildren. The sous are Mr Thomas JameS Sherrard, Wellington, Mr Sarauel Sherrard, of Maken'o, Feilding, and Mr John Sherrard, Pongaroa. The daughters are Mrs J. Pattillo, Napier, Mrs A .G. Robertson, Okaiawa, and Mfs B. McDonald, Mrs T. Herbert ,Mrs K, McDonald, Mrs C. Clark, Mrs E. Wright and Miss Dorothy Sherrard, all of Pongaroa.
