Mr O. A. Banner, beadmaster of Kelburn Normal School, Wellington, bas been appointed tfeasurer of tho New Zealand Efiucational Institute in succession to Mr J. II. M. Finlaysou, B.A., who was recently appointed to the inspeetorate in tlie Otago district. Captain A. H. L. Sugden, Now Zealand Stalf Coi'ps, i'orinerjy of Napier, returned to tho Dominiou by the Akaroa which arrived at Auckland 011 Friday after taking a small arins eourse in England extending over two years, Mr Eric P. Haslam, a New Zealand Hhodes Scholar, of Balliol College, Oxford, has taken" his B.A. degree in Modern Greats with second-class lionouis. Mr Haslam is a son of the Rev. J. H. Haslam, Brookljm. Mr. Iiaymond HUI will lcave Cbristcliuich this week to tako up an api pointineiit as rcsidential agricultural master at To Aute College, Hawke's Bay. Mr. llill is a graduato of Hawkosbury Agricultural College, New South Wales, and has lately been a student at Cauterbury University College.
