THE MONTAGUE SHOW

The Bertram Montague Eevue Company, which has been brought to New Zealand by Sir Benjamin Fuller, will open its season at the Municipal Theatre^ Hastings, next Monday. The first production of the company will be "Lets Go Places," a presentation which contains all the ingredients noeessary for popuJarity. The foremost of the company 's players will givo items which earned the applause. of their audiences in the West End of London. One of the outstanding performances is that of the Darmora Ballet, consisting of 12 Hungarian girLs, whose eostumes are so lavish and coJourful that they form one of th" most spectacular scenes in the revuo. The prineipal comedian of the show ie the suecessful English player, George Doonan, and he is partnered by the American comedienne Barbara Vernon, who was the *tar the revival of' "No, No, Nanette" at the London Hippodromo last year. Before coming to Hastings the company was seen in Wouth Africa, Australia and Auckland, wlmro particular admiration was aroused by the lavish f.nd tasteful equip-t ment which the company has brought with it. Some of the most popufai piayers in towns which the revue has already visited have been Jewell and Warriss, who present a feast of hilarity, the Dawn Sisters, who show new steps in dancing, and the Blenders. whose singing is of a high standard. The ballet of beautiful girls will also be seen in a number of spectacular sequences. With the company is Mr Lewis Marks, whose work as the producer of the show in the West End oi London was largely responsible for its suecess. The show has been brought to New Zoaland by Sir Benjamin Fuller. ' ' Let 's Go Places ' ' will bo played on Monday and Tuesday, and a new revue, "Tliis Year of Carnival. '' on Wednesday aiid Thursday. l'lans open at Fail's on Thursday triorning.
