WAIPUKURAU THEATRE
"the crusades" to-night. Cucil B. DeMille's great romantic spectacle for Baramount, "The Crusades," which can only be shown at the Waipukurau Theatre for one night, to-night (Tuqsday) at 8, .is a worthy successor to sucli outstanding production as "The Ten C'ommandments," "The Sign of the Cross" and "Cleopatra." As was the case with these pictures, "Tlie Crusades" tells the story of supercharged conliicts in history, arisin^ at times of great crisis in the human race. The picture is sSt in the Iwelfth Century, when all Christendom went on the inspired mission of rescuing the HoJy Land, especially Jerusalem and the Holy Sepulchre, from the power of Islain. Into the splendid pageantry of "Tho Crusades'', De Mille has skillfully woven a moving love story among tho most inemorabie of screen romances. lt tells of the love between Ricliard the Lion-Hearted, played by Henry Wilcoxon, and Berengaria, Princess of Navarre, played by Loretta Young. This picture occupies practically all the evening, and patrona are requested to be seated early.
