"THE CRUSADES" TO-MORROW, \ | Cecil B. DeMille's great romantic ! spectacle for Paramount, "The Cru- j sades," which can only be shown at the Waipukurau Theatre for one night, to-morrow (Tuesday) at 8, is a worthy successor to such outstanding productions as "The Teu Commandments," "The Sign of the Cross" and "Cleopatra." As was the case with theso pictures, "The Crusades" tells the story of supercharged conflicts in history, arising at times of great crisis in tbe liuman race. The picture is set in Lho Twclfth Century, wlien all Christendom went on the inspired mission oi rescuing the Holy Land, especialJ.v Jerusalem and the Holy Sepulcbve, from the power of Islam. Jnto the splendjd pageantry of "The Crusades". De Mille has skillfully woven a moving love story among the most .mernorable of screen romances. It tells of the love between. Richard the Lion-llearted, played by Henry Wilcoxon, and Berengaria, Princess of Navarre, played by Loretta Young. This picture occupies practically all the evening, and patrons are requested to be seated early.
