Von Nida, 79 — 152. W. Holder, 76—152. Walker, 79 — 153. Barr, 76 — 153. Bourke, 81 — 154. Boorer, 80 — 154. Clifford, 77—154. E. Naismith, 77 — 154. Bae, 83 — 155. Ricliardson, 78 — 155. Other scores included Ward (New Zealand), 88 — 167, and Godby (New Zealand, 93 — 190. Ward was again impressive from the tees but was weak in 'approaching and putting. He was out in 41 but struck the full force of the wind on the homeward journey. Godby showed improved form until he registered 7, 7, 6 at successive holes on the inward journey. Neither Ward nor Godby qualilied among the 60 who will play in the final 36 holes to-mor-row. 1 Ferrier to-day played a grand fighting round. Whenever he dropped a stroke to par he invariably made amends with a birdie at the following hole. Prominent players like W. Bolger and Hattersley were completely upset by the conditions.
