DEPARTMENTAL VALUATIONS
ARCH.
LOWE.
Sir, — In Saturday's issue an item appeared which seemed to me to fecord that} in a case brought before Mr. Justiee Ostler, an objector to a Taxation Department value was foreed against his wish to sell not at the value ate assessed by the department 's valuer, which woxxld seem reasonable, but at the lower value which the owner had set as fair for taxation purposes. In a word, does objection to a departmental valuation lay the objector open to be sold up at the valuation he considers fair even though he does not wish to sell? — Yours, etc,.
