GUILD GARDEN CIRCLE MEET IN NAPIER
The September meeting of tho gardening circle of tho Napier Townswomen's Guild was lield in St. Jolin's sehoolroom on Thursday, Mrs Pegram presiding over an excellent attendancc of members and visitors. At tlie conclusion of rouline business a general discussion took place on tlie proposal to hold a display of floral work by section members on September 30. Owing to the prior engage' inent of the liall there will be no October meeting of the section. Two demonstrations had been arranged, both of which provea most mreresting, Mrs Hurst showed meinners the arrangement of a i*>sy bowl, wbich. wlien completed, was most charmlng. Both memberswe re accorded a hearty vote of thanlcs. The competitions were again keenly contested, resulting as follow: Baskct of flowers, Miss Neill 1, llr.s Corner 2, Mrs Pegram 3; layer bowl: Mrs Hurst 3, Miss Neill 2, Mrs Corner 3; shoulder spray: Mrs Hurst 1, Mrs II. Wilson 2. M rs Bradley 3. Mr Theakstmie kindly p'dged and was warmly thariked. A happy meetin.r closed with afternoon tea
