Annual Meeting Held

TAKAPAU, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the Takapau Defence Rifle Cluh there was an exceptionally good attendance presided over by Mr. S. Smith The election of ofiicers for the ensuing year ensued as follows: — Patrpn, Mr. 'J. Douglas; president, Mr. O. H. Bjorngaard; deputy-president, Mr. R. Ellis; honorary secretary, Mr. G. Jackson; vice-presidents, Messrs. N. M. Paulsen/ G. W. May, J. Maudsley, J. A. Grant, J. W. Cato, D. McLeod, W. Ellis, 0. Pease, W. G. Morton; commit- | tee, Messrs. W. Davies, W. Edgecombe, S. Smith, A. Edwards, W. N. Waldin; auditor, C. Pease; selector, N. Waldin; handicappe»> W. H. Davies; trustees, H. H. Oldershaw- (life member) and W. Davies. A notice brought forward by Mr. Davies and seconded by W. Edgecombe, "That standards for 300, 500 and 600 yards shoots be raised froai 98 to 100" was carried, range standards being 300 yards 33, 500 yards 34, 600 yards 33. Standards for 800 and 900 yards were raised from 91 to 93, 800 yards 48 and 9Q0 yards 4b. The standard for 1000 was raised from 40 to 43. It was decided to adopt the single-arm slinge in accordance with . N.R.A. rules. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Davies, who won the Craig Rose Bowl outright last season, and who genefously re-donated to the club as the Oraig Challenge Rose Bowl.Hearty votes of thanks were given to the auditor, selector and all donors of trophies. The retiring president, Mr. S. Smith, was tendered a hearty vote of thanks. for the good work done by him during his period in pffice. Mr. W. G. Morton was unanimously elected as a life member.
