Waipukurau 's Dannevirke Visit

WAIPUKURAU Last Night. Nine members of the Waipukurau Chess Club will travel by cars to Dannevirke to-morrow evenings, to meet chess players there in a return match. The two teams are as follows Dannevirke: H. G. Lee, G. C. Carston, J. Fletcher, F. W. Petre G. H. Carston, E. Gibbard, W. J. Fisher L. B. Bell, G. H. Stark; Waipukurau: D. W. Neild, F. Wilson, J. Huntley Walker, G. E. Fowler G. A. Wiggins, W. England, G. F. Stapleton R. Holms, G. H. Stapleton. The local team will depart shortly after five o'clock, the games being arranged to commence at 6.45. LAST NIGHT'S RESULTS Championship matches played last night by members of the Waipukurau Chess Club resulted : — G. H. Stapleton F. Wilson 4. D. W. Neild is the winner of the championship.
