A. Maddison, at the meeting of the Hastings Borough Council last evening. "I have heen given to .understaud that ihe Department proposes to buy a fnrliher block on the southern side of ihe street," he said. "This will enable a further 28 residences to be conAlso before the council was a request from Mr E. V. gimpson, asking the council to undertake the- f ormation of a road as an extension of Hastings street through to Willowpark road. Mr Simpson is to he informed that the council will carry out the work under the same terms and conditions as for the formatjon of Akina street upon receipt of ihe proposed sub-divi-sional plans and iheir approval.
