THE NATIONAL BALL
What promises to be one of the out* standing events of the dancing season will take place in the Assembly Hall, Hastings, next Wednesday, when the National Ball will be held, and co. inciding as it does with the SpringbokHawke's Bay match there is little doubt that it will be largely attendcd. An invitation has been extended to tho Springbok and Hawke's Bay teanis and they will both be represented. Tho dancing will be old-' time and modern,- aud Lew Munro's orcJiestra has been engaged.- For the benefit of aon-daucers a card.room has been set apart. Tbe committee has, therefore, catered for everyono desiring to attend what should be a notable i'unction. Dancing will lake place between S.30 and 1.30, and suppcr will bo servcd between 10.50 and niidnigkt. The committee speeially wisk it to bo known that evening dross is optional, so that those attending the football in the afternoon and who are not able to ehange into evening dress will bo as welcome as those in dress suits.
