Removal Of Lights From Road Work CONCERN AT TARADALE
Acts of vandalism, in tbe removal of warning 'lights from places wbere tbe road bas been opened up, were viewed witb concern by members of tbe Taradale Town Board last nigbt. Tbe chairman, Mr; J. Williamson, stated that tbe wilful reinoval of lights from road work at tbe iutersection of Neave and Avondale roads, was something to be deplored, because of tbe possible serious consequences. Sucb acts were deserving of a severe penalty. Mr. J. Wainscott pointed out that if auy person had unfortunately driven into the portion opened up for the purposes of laying a deep culvert it was possible tbat the boiard would have been rendercd liable for heavy damages. The clerk, Mr. W. G. Jarvis, said he had the impression that someone had also been turning the lights out. "That is as bad as stealing the lamps," said Mr. G. Webb. •'Taradale does not seem to be alone in acts of vandalism. I see Hastings has also been tToubled by them," said the chairman. It was decided that proceedings be taken against offenders if caught.
