NEGLIGENCE CLAIM
Case Against H.B. County Councii
The damage's claim against the Hawke's Bay County Couneil, before Mr J. Miller S.M., in the Napier Magistrate's Court, made by a Hastings carrier, David Walker, was adjourned at the conclusion of the evidence for the defenee yesterday. One absent witness for the plaintiff is vet to be lieard, and tlie Magistrate is ti inspect the road at tlie scene wliero the accident o'ccurred. Tbe claim, for £177 1/2 is made for the alleged negligepee of the conntv iu allowing a faulty filling to be made on the Waihua road. An accident oceurred to one of the plaintiff's trucks in February of last year. 28 of a eonsignment of fat lambs for the freezing works being killed. Mr M. R. Grant appeared for the defendant and Mr' H. B. Lusk for the county.
