Milier, S.M., in the Hastings Magistrate' s Court this morning when it was pleaded on behalf of ItoSs Dy* sart and McLean Who Were charged with Using a Iight delivery trnck with the wrong number plates, that the plates from another Vohicle had been trantfel'red ^ by an employee of the firm. Mr W. E. Bate, for the defence, said that the offenCe was due to carelessness rather than to eriminal intent. Tlie responslbility was really the employee' s and he could be procdeded agjainst, but the iirm would make themselves responsible. "I submit that there is not the stipervision that there ehould be about this firm's number-plates," said In* spector D, Mann, who brought the charge. A fine of £l 10/- with costs 10/- was imposed
