Charged with carelessly riding a bicycle in Heretaunga street, Hastings. William Clifton Was nhed iO /* With costs of a like amount by Mr J. Milier, S.M. in the Hastings Magistrate's Coui't this morning. Inspector H. Manu Stated in evidence that Clifton rode a cycle oii to the wfolig side of the road and then cycled aci-oss the footpath to cut a corner. There was not much trafflc ! about at the time, biit all the saffle \ tlie practice was a dangerdus one, It j Was later found that the cycle was | uut pioperly eqitipped ahd had no beil.
