# ♦ Southdown and Romney Sheep

A shipment of 40 stud Southdown ewe hoggets has recently been made to South Australia through the stud stock department of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agencv Co., Ltd., the sheep in question. being bred by Messrs Frizzell Bros., of West Eyreton, Canterbury, and, have been despatched to South Australia by the Waitaki from Lyttelton via Melbourne. The Wanganella, which left Wellington for Melbourne on Thursday last, earried a number of stud Romney ewes and a stud ram purchased by Mr F. A. Wardle from Messrs Yoss Bros., of Longburn. The ewcs forwarded were specially selected and have been mated lo Karere (164/33 (30846) and represent the second purchase of New Zealand Romney Marsh sheep by Mr Wardle this season.
