Waipukurau Bandsjnen Honour Mr. E. Malkin

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Durijig an interval in. the Waipukurau Municipai Band's praetice, Mr T. W. Walker, bandmaster, mentioned I the past services of Mr E. Malkin, tvho 8 had receutly retired from the positiou 8 of couductor, a post he had filled for | twelve years. I Mr Walker moved a motion to plaee on record the band's appreciation of Mr Malkin 's services. This was seconded by Mr E. E. Perkins. Mr W. Hall, as one of the oldest members of the band, said that the members had mueh to thank Mr Malkin for. He had put in an enormous amount of time in the interests of the bandt particularly for contests. The motion was carried unanlmoasly. Mr Walker indicated that they would have more to say in a practical way at a later date. He assured Mr Malkin of a hearty welcome whenever he attended practices and said that all would be glad to have liis assistance. Mr Malkin th'anlced members for their remarks and said he would be pleased to play under Mr T. Denne. He wouid be quite happy to exehange the baton for an iustrument and would do liis best to further the band's interests.
