Final Preparations at Wanganui

WANGANUI, Tbis Day. Ngatirabiri, 7.4, has to be added to the acceptors for tbe Putiki Hack at the Wanganui meeting, which opens on Thursday. Soalring rain overnigbt was followed by a fine morning. Tbe track on No. 1 grass was heavy for tbe final galiops. H. Ifalieu arrived last night witb six horses. Cute Melody, Eed Mint, Errand Boy, Even Money, Platter and Cloak were given pace work before breakfast. Ben Braggie was given three-quarter pace work. lcing and Eelative Tan six furlongs^ finisbing togetber in 1.17, both doing it well. Eoyal Cbief and Protector ran three furlongs at three-quarter pace and Civil four furlongs in 50. Scarf Dance and Imposture were associated over six furlongs. going well within themselves in lmin. 20sec. Middle completed five furlongs in lmin. 7$sec., the last half-mile taking 53$sec. Haughty Winner jumped off from tbe six-furlongs post and was picked up at tbe five by Great Memory. They finished togetber in Imip. 16 3-5sec. Cerne Abbas and Entail ran seven furlongs in lmin. 31 4-5sec. Tbere was little between tbem. After breakfast tbe tracks dried up considerably. EeipaT Tan balf a inil-e in 50 4-5see. Pair Isle ran five furlongs in lmin. 7see and Olivette tbe same distance in lmin. 54see. Persen completed seven furlongs in lmin. 314 sec., and Amatory six in lmin. 24sec. Tommy Atkins jumped four big fences well. Helios, Top Hat and Master Norval did a xound over the burdles. Master Norval ran round tbe first obstacle and tailed off, tbe other pair keeping togetber but jumping indifferently. Useful work was done by Airing, , Oaiti, Amigo, Baron Bold, Acron, Lady Hoariri, Nahala, Hunting Cat , and a number of otbers.
