New Zealand scored brightly during tbe jnorning, Kerr and Weir adding 174 at tbe xate of 90 an bour. Kerr played brilliantly, gliding, hooking, cutting and driving freely and strongly. Ha mad© his Mghest score of tbe tour in tbree and a-half hours, bis knock induding 28 fours and on© six. Weir also was aggressive, bis innings including 13 fours and one six, Wallace opened brightly, but was distnissed .with a fine running catcb at tbe boundary. Eoberts was also forceful" till be was snapped, up witb a fine onebanded cateb' close to square-leg. Kew: Zealand lost tbe last eigbt wiekets for 107. Hargreaves, of Yorkshir*^ was quite fast, an.d Benka, of Middlesex, was bowling well-flighted, good-lengtb left-band breaks. Tbe Minor Counties in tbeir second innings were always struggling.
