WHANGAREI, This Day." , A deputation representing women 's interests met the borough council last night to devise a plan to stop drinking at danoes. Snggestions advaneed were that commissionaries be employed to exercise tactful control and eheck disorderly behaviour, or tliat a by-law bq introducqd to the effeqt that no danee bq condueted without authority and that a speeial permit be issued by the borough council mling that a danca puigt be condueted in an orderly and geeoily fashion, One couneillor suggested the establisliment of a citizens' copimittee to gppoint members, wearing armlets, to attend eaeh dance. The legal and finance committee is to xeport.
