PROPOSED N.Z. MOTOR DAMAGES LAW DESCRIBED AS "OUTRAGEOUS"
(Received 7, 11.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 7. The president of the National Roads and Motorists' Associaition, Mr. J. C. Watson, said that the legislation forecast in New Zealajid to do away with the need for proving negligence as a basis for damages for injuries caused by motor-oars could qnly be described - as otttrageons. "A law such as that proposed wonld be in direot opposition to every conoaption of British justice and fair play," he said. "The proppsal is jnst anather instance of tlie tendency on the part of Governtnents to penalise the motorownof in every possible direction.' '
