"CANADA IS BRITISH."

Nolwithstanding the discordant uotes which are heard from timo to timo, and which may possibly be coul'usiug to people outside the borders of this country^ Canada is still heart and soul a British country ; its interests are inseparable from those oi the Empire to which it belongs. It has nothing but admiration for the magnificent recovery whicb the United Kingdom has achieved and for the unprecedented etfort which is being) made, and successfully, to increase the fighting strength oi Britain by land and sea aud air as a means of frnstrating the military ambitions of European despots and minimising the threat of war. This admiration intensifies the sense of pride in the British family relationship which Canadians have always felt. It is part of the bond which unites the Dominion with the United Kingdom and because of whicb in time of crisis this country woujd act precisely in the manner described by Mr King. — Montreal G_q,zetts.
