WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Reportixxg upon the activities of the Waipukurau Oounty Council for August, the engineer, Mr. R. B. Pine, states : — Hatuma Riding. — General work has been carried out, patching having been done on most riding roade. The grader has been engaged three and a-half days on main highways and five and a-half days on riding roads raking in shingle. An old wooden cuivert on the Waipuku-rau-Takapau highway will be replaced with a twelve-inch concrete pipe. Tho timber for the redeeking of Ngahape bri.dge is on the site and the work will be carried out early next week. Mt. Herbert Riding. — Two small bridges on Middleton road and one on Tangatnpara Toad have been redecked. The grader has worked five days in this riding and a truck was engaged on the Waipukurau-Porangahau highway patching during the past wet spell. Patching was also done on Mt. Herbert and Mangatarata roads. Purimu Riding. — Trucke have delivercd 114 cubie yards of metal to this riding and most of the weak spots have been attended to. Minor Slips have been cleared and culverts have been opened. A small Cuivert on Tourerere corner has been removed to a more suitable location and the grader has . worked three days raking in metal.
