"THE CASE OF THE BLACK CAT" TO-NIGHT. "The Case of the Blaek Cat," the latest of the First National picturieed versions of the Erle Stanley Gardner's mystery thrillers, comes to the Waipukurau Theatre to-night (Tuesday) at 8, with Ricardo Cortez in the role of the famous lawyer-detective, Perry Mason, and June Travis as Della Street, his secretary. There are murders galore — one of an eccentric millionaire 's nurse, oue of his caretaker who owns a mad cat — and a tlxird for good measure. Mystery story addiets are respectfully asked to attend "The Case of the Black Cat" to prove to their satisfaction the claixn of Erle Stanley Gardner fans Lhat it is the most unique and puzzling story yet written by the master of murder mystery. On the sanxe programme will be shown the Sprfngboks v. Canterbury football match, and "Down the Stretcli," a tlirilling story of horse-racing, with Mickey Rooney, 1'atricia Ellis and Dennis Moore. "Three Smai't Girls." Reserve Friday night to see the lovely youngster, Deaxma Durbin, in "Three Smart Girls." This is a great comedy, and Deanna Durbin sings glorionsiy.
