MISTY RAIN
Weather Conditions in, Central H.B. . A Misty rain fell in Central Hawke '■ Bay to-day after a we.ek-end marked by an almost incessant steady downpour, heavy on Saturday but lighter yesterday. The Tukituki and other rivers, as well as creeks, are in a highlyflooded state, and much lOw-lying ground is inundated. In the vicinity of the Waipukurau Jockey Club's course the water from L'ake Hatuma has extended over a considerable area of the countryside. The Tukituki river overflowed its banks at one point, near the Waipukurau borough, last night, * covering land near the Heretaunga dairy factory and the borough pumpikg station, but receded this morning. The officially-reported rainfall for 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday was 97 points, and for the. past 24 hours only 25 points. The Utmospheric conditions are mild, therefore lambing operations are not seriously affected.
