Sir Audrew Russell is epeuding a holiday at Rotorua. Captain R. Stuart l-'reiicii, aide-do-eamp to the Goveruor-General, \ iscouut Galway, left by the Awatea on a siioit visit to Australia. Dr. Bernard liooper, of ihe Selly Qak ' Hospital, Binningham_ has been appointed radiologist at the Wanganui Hospital, as from Jauuary 1. Miss E. Andrews, of New Plymouth, leader of the New Zealand deiegation to the Pan-Paciiic Women 's Conforencv, loturned to the Dominion by the Mariposa. Mr. and. Mrs. W. Thompson, of Wellington, who have been on a holiday visit to Hastings and Napier, returned south this morning. Mrs. Thompson a former Hastings resident. Mr E. L. Cullen AI.P., ioaves Hastings to-morrow for Wellington to attend the caucus of the Labour Party on Wednesday and the re-opening of Par: liament on Thursday. The Rev. H. A. Gould, Presbyterian Minister at Fitzroy, has returned to New Plymouth after spending a holiday in the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne districts recuperating from an illness. The Rev. J. T. Holland, elder son of the Rt. Rev. H. St. B. Holland, Bishop of Wellington, 'has been appointed vicar of Featherston, and will take up his duties there in January. Senior-Sergeant Sivyer, accompanied by Mrs Sivyer, left Hastings this morning for Wellington, where he will attend a conference of representatives of the various districts of the Poliee Association. Mr W. J. Baiilie, of Hastings, left this morning for Greymouth, where he will attend the annual conference of ihe New Zealand Boxing Council as delegate from the Hawrke's Bay Boxing Association. Mr H. S. Triggs, of Napier, left this morning for Wellington to take over his new dnties as committee reporter in the House of Representatives. Mr Triggs was formerly on the reporting staff of the Herald-Tribune. Miss H. Eversley, a teacher on excliange Jroin the London schools, who has been for the last year teaching in South Australia, is at present visiting relatives in Hawke's Bay, prior to proceeding to Auckland fco connect with the s.S; Niagara, en route to England. Mr. J. Clarke-Campbell, son of the late Captain M. Clarke-Campbell, Auckland, has graduated from the Royal Naval College at Dartmoutk. and has been appointed midsliipman in H.M.S. Repulse, which is with the Mediterranean Fleet. Mr. Clarke-Campbell was a pupil of Soutlrwell 'Sckool, Hamilton. Mr and Mrs I. Pkillips left Napier on Saturday for Wellington where they will take up residence. Mr Phillips, who was manager of the Napier branch of Wooiworth's Ltd., was tendered a farewell by tlie staff beiore leaving, and in wishing him iuck in his new sphere they presented him with a suitcase, and a charming bouquet to Mr.e Pliiliips.
