WEDDING

AHen — Baddiley Daifodils and pink blossoms were arranged by friends of the bride Sm ihe Methodist Churcli, Hastings, on day evening for the wedding of Jessie, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Baddiley, Albert street, Hastings, and John Marcel, son of Mr and Mrs S. Allen, of AVaimarama. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell ofiiciated at the ceremony and Misa Napier presided at tho organ, The bride, who entered the church with her brother-in-law, Mr E. Davis, wore a gown of ivory satin beaute fashioned on cla&sical lines with a long 1 train. The bodice had a shifred yoke and the sleeves, full on the shoulders were fitting at the wriats. A matehing coatee was finished at the waist with a long tie of satin which hung to the hem of her skirt. She wore silver kid shoes and her veil was arranged with a halo of oranga blossonu She carried a shower bouquet of whita froesias, sweet peas, orchids and maidenhair fern with touches of silver. The two bridesmadds were the Misses G. AVison and M. Laredo and they were dressed alike in gowns of petal pink crepe de cliine with shirred medici collars and tiny buttons trimming tha back. Buttons also finished the long sieaves which wero full at the shoulders. Silver belts defined the waistline and each maid wore silver "Shoes and a hairband of petal pink flowers. with silver ieaves. Bouquets of deep pink camellias, sweet peas, freesias and 'fern were carried. Their gifts from the bridegroom were crystal necklaces. Mr L. Allen was the best man and Mr C. Allen the groomsman. After the ceremony a reeeption was held at tho home of the bride 's parents, where Mr and Mrs Baddiley weleoqied the guests, Mrs Baddiley wore a gown of brown tlowered matelasse with brown hat and accessories. Her posy was of wallflowers m rust and brown shades. Mrs S. Allen, the bridegfSom 'a xnother, wore a, navy bluo costume aua navy hat and carried a-posy of yelJnw jonquils. The reeeption was a yery jolly ouo and the" tables arranged for the wedding broakfast were decorated with vellow jonquils and pink blossom. When Mr and Mrs J. Allen left by car for their honeymoon in the south, Mrs Allen travelled in a black tailored costume with white smocked blouae, black hat and accessories. They will reside at Waimarama.
