" GISBORNE, Last Night. The New Zealand Maori golf championships concluded to-day. The tournameat was to have started on Tuesday but was postponed till the following day on account of rain. Rain prevailed agaia to-day when the semi-finals and the finals were decided. Eightynine players particippted, 60 men and 29 women from all parts of tihe North Island being represented. In the menJs championship semi-final D. B. Barry (Giaborne) beat L. Paewai (Dannevirke) 3 and 2, and W. T. Karu (Waipukurau) beat J. Hape (Dannevirke) at the twenty-third, hole. In the final Kuru beat Barry 3 and J. Iu tha women 's championship semifinals Miss T, Chase (Wairoa) heat JJiss H. Mitohell (Rotorua) 5 and 3, and Mr». J, Hope (Dannevirke) beqt Mrs. K. Tareha (Waipawa) one up at the nineteenth. In the final Mrs. Hape beat Miss| Ohaso 2 up. In the Pitt Shield district competition fpr teams of two men and two, women players, 15 teama entered, thoj winners being Waiohika-Waimarana with 297, Waipawa second with 30?, and Dannevirke third with 306. The teams rnatoh, northern districts in the North Island v. southeru, 12 players aside, resulted in south winning by 920 to 939. , In the women 's teams match south1 won easily. ,
