MR HAROLD E. SOWERSBY
\ Many residents of Hastings and district will learn with regret of the death of Mr Harold Ernest Sowersby, who passed away in Hastings on Thursday, after a comparatively short illness. Mr Sowersby, who was a son of Mra and the 1: / • Robert Sowersby of Hastings, was 45 years of agie and was born in Hastings. He received his early education at the Hastings Centfal School and later at the Napier Boys' High School. After leaving school, he took up farming interests and then went on active service for about four years with the field arfiilery in the Great War. On his return he took up farming at Ngatarawa and with Ms father, and he was still farming his property at the time of his death. 3 He was married to Miss May Murfitt, of Hastings, about 16 years ago, and his widow and four young children, two sons and two daughters, are left to mourn their loss. Of a very Mnd and upright dispositaon, the late Mr Sowersby was held in the highest esteem by a large circle of friends. and the deepest sympathy will be extended to his family, and also his two eisters, Mrs H. Paynter and M. Sowersby, of Hastings. The funeral -$|ok place this afteraoon.
