Adjustment Sought

WELLINGTON, Last Night. Eequesting an alteration in the incidonce of motor taxation, a combined deputation from the North and South Island Motor UnionS waited on the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, to-day. The Minister of Transport, the Hon. B. Semple, was also present. The principal adjustment sought was the removal of the levy on motor spirit of 4$a a gallon for general purposes, the speakers urging that it had been a depresslon measure and that a deflnite promise had been given that the tax would be removed when better times arrived. The Minister, while indicating that no alteration was likely this year, said he would look into the points raised and diseuss the niatter with Cabinet.
