No Special Train ior People'* Day oi H.B. Show ARRANGEMENTS FOR STOCK Hopes were entertained tbat tbe opening of tbe East Goast railwtay could be suitably observed by tbe running of a special passenger train from Wairoa on People 's Day of tbe Hawke's Bay Spring Show at Tomoana next montb, but tbis bas been found to be impracticiable. A short time ago tbis matter waa taken up by Mr. A. H. Retemeyer, secretary of tbe Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society, witb tbe General Manager of Railways, Mr. G. H. Mackley, wbo undertook to see if sucb an arrange.ment could be made. Mr. Mackley, bowever, stated tbat be could not give any assurance in tbat dixection, as much depended upon tbe progress of tbe work on tbe line. To-day tbe executive committee of tbe society Was advised by Mr. Mackley tbat it would be impossible to arrange for tbe running of a passenger train, but added tbat suitable arTangements would be made for tbe conveyance of stock to and from tbe sbow.
