Mij Mike Jacobs, the promoter, announeed an elimination tournament to select an opponent to meet Louis in June for the heavy weight boxing title He pdded that heavyweights refusing to enter would be eliminated from the list of challengers. Schmeling refused to enter. He said: 'The tournament is just another invention to prevent me from meeting Louis. They are afraid of me, because I knocked him out once and would again. If I am not the outstanding challenger now, I will never be." Farr's share of the xeceipts was 51,292 dollars, and Louis' 102,585 dollars. The referee, Mr Donovan, aaid: "Farr is the toughest heavy weight I ever saw, I do not know how he stood up under the punishment Louis gave."
