SHEPHERD'S BODY FOUND
Apparently Thrown Into Flooded Creek BIG HILL STATION TRAGEDY An extensive search throughout the day resulted in the finding shortly "hefore dark yesterday of the body of Mr, J. Eetter, a shepherd, aged 23, who had been missing since early on Tuesday morning from Big Hill Stafion, Maraekakaho, The body was found about a mile below the ford in the flooded creek near where his horse had been found earlier in the afternoon. It is surnlised that while attempting to cross tlie creek the horse stumbled and threw Mr. Eetter iAto the water. Death was apparently due to drowning. Search partiep had hecn put all day the preyious day, during ipOBt pf thj night, and also all day yesterday. Mr-,-Eetter set out early on Tuesday mprn? ing on hia horse, accompanicd by his dogs, and was not seen agaim He had been employed pn the station for four or five years. Diffieulty was enc'ountered in movIng the body on account of the steep bank at the spot where it was found. It was therefore not bfought in until this morning. It will be brought to Hastings this afternoon and a» inquest will Jater be held in the Hastings Courthouse. Mr, Retter was a son of Mrs. O, Olsen, Frederiek street. Hastings.
